We’re thrilled to announce a very special creative collaboration with the all-female owned and run legends at Soft Power Studio.
It all started as a scribble on a page over a beer by our Ranger Sam, and evolved into the beautiful illustration you’ll find on our merch today – lovingly and patiently sketched by clever creative Lisa Diebold… cont’d below.
All profits support Odonata’s species recovery efforts.
The brief was to create a circular ecosystem depicting a thriving landscape, featuring some of the species we’re working to recover alongside some of the gnarly trees and grasslands you’ll find amongst the woodlands at Mt Rothwell Sanctuary.
The catch? Most of our species only come out at night, so Lisa also had to find a way to give the impression of a moonlight setting. Brief nailed!
These incredible critters do way more for our earth than look cute in pics, without them our ecosystems begin to collapse. But rather than getting too bogged down in the impending doom of it all, we wanted to hero the beauty of the pre-colonial landscapes that Traditional Owners stewarded with such respect.
The final artwork captures the majesty of what can be achieved when we return native species to the landscapes they belong.
It is a picture of hope and depicts the reality of what we are achieving at Odonata, alongside our First Nations colleagues – with the support of our partners and wonderful folk like you.
